The Overstreet Wedding

This past Saturday we went to a beautiful wedding at a place called Dover Farms. The weather couldn’t have been better for an outside ceremony!

Quick outfit note: I had planned to wear my red wedding dress and didn’t really think to have a plan B…however, when I tried said dress on, sadly it was baggy in all the wrong places. This is good because after losing 25 lbs I’d hope that it wasn’t still skin tight. However this is bad because I really love that dress and I’ve only gotten to wear it once. So…I ended up in a pencil skirt and black top. Boring, but what’s a girl to do. I just don’t feel like spending money these days on special occasion dresses. Well, I should probably say I have other things I choose to spend my money on like Starbucks and workout clothes saving it.

Any who, the wedding was beautiful. The food was delish. The company was fabulous. The couple was joyous. Now for some pictures!

Red Hills Horse Trials

For the past several days the Red Hills Horse Trials have been going on in Tallahassee. I tell you what the first two days were the nastiest coldest weather and the last two were perfect, sunny and in the low to mid 70s.

I’ve only been one time to the trials a few years ago but hardly remember going. My boss is a coordinator of the event and she asked if I wanted to do the run on Sunday morning (today). I did a little research and signed right up. It looked like a blast! This run isn’t just a normal boring run. IT WAS AWESOME. The course was 2.2 miles long and made up of 24 obstacles. They are the actual obstacles that the horses have to jump. Including two water holes.

Me and one of my co-workers met at my house at 7 AM (the first morning of the time change no less…made for an early morning) and headed to the race.

It was fffreezing this morning (well, upper 40s) and I was in shorts and a long sleeve top. However I didn’t want to wear pants because there were some water obstacles and that just would not have been fun. I regretted my outfit all the way up until the start of the race, but then quickly found I’d made the right choice. I warmed  up when we started running and it was perfect!

My phone was in a ziploc shoved in my sports bra, so I didn’t get many pictures of the course. But between us we were able to grab a few photos.photo4Me, Kelly (best boss EVER), Shaness

We just went off that grassy island, ran across the water, and hurdled over the “sailboats”!

I borrowed a few pictures off the web of some of the obstacles.

After the race I went home and took a shower and got some breakfast. Then David and I headed back to Red Hills to do some spectating of the events! Apparently we missed the really exciting stuff yesterday, the horses doing the cross country course. But today’s events still had some jumping in an arena. It was a beautiful day and the horses were all so gorgeous. I really enjoyed myself!photo1

We had an awesome Sunday. Now we’re winding down, it’s already 7:30 and I guess that means I should get ready for the work week!

Frisbee Golf

Have you ever played? Let me tell you, it is a lot of fun!

A few weekends ago we got to play for the first time in a very long time. We had softball practice on a beautiful Sunday and my family and some friends had planned to play afterwards. We didn’t originally plan to stay because we had a lot of stuff that needed to get done at home, but we figured what the heck, why not!
The day was absolutely GORGEOUS. I mean a perfect day to be outside. In fact I’m pretty sure all of Tallahassee was at the park too. Perfect day!

We spent several hours playing and had a wonderful time. My brother let us borrow some of his extra Frisbees but I definitely want to invest in some of our own.
Not only did we have a lot of fun, but we got in some killer exercise. It involved a lot of walking and hiking back through trails to get to the next hole. Fun all ‘round!

Here’s the course that we played at Tom Brown Park.

If you haven’t done it before and you can throw a Frisbee and aim at a basket, I’d highly recommend it!
