PawPaw Turns 96!

Last week myself + 26 other family members on my Mom’s side went to Osaka to celebrate my Great Grandpa’s 96th birthday! We had a great time celebrating. I think the chef kind of liked me because he kept sneaking me an extra shrimp here and there. And he was sure to fill up my Yum Yum sauce before him and his little cart with the bicycle horn on it left.

Or maybe he just noticed that I was putting back the food on my plate at an alarming rate and could tell I would be happy to take any and all leftovers after divvying up to everyone at the table. I’ve got a shape to maintain.

What? Round is a shape.

This is about the only thing chop sticks are good for. Something about not being able to shovel large amounts of food into my mouth puts me off Smile

Happy Birthday PawPaw!!

Big Easy’s Snowballs

Right on track. I checked another thing off the list.

bucket 6-24-12

But we’ll get to the snowballs. Just you wait.

Saturday night was date night with Sarah and Tanner. We went to Carrabbas. I haven’t been there forever and it’s one of my favorites so I’m so glad Sarah suggested it!

We I stuffed myself to capacity but we’d planned to go to Big Easy’s and to Big Easy’s we were going. I kept hearing about it but had yet to go and I was 100% set on going. No matter what!

Big Easy’s Snowballs

It’s just a little hole in the wall shop open seasonally.

Sarah ordering her delicious concoction.

I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it far exceeded my expectations. Y’all, seriously, this is the best snow cone I’ve ever had. What made it even better was that it was stuffed. With ice cream. You may think to yourself…

Self: Wouldn’t that taste funny? Shouldn’t the ice part of the snow cone melt and water it down?

Fat Girl Self: Be quiet and get it stuffed. Duh.

I got the Stuffed Cream Dreamsicle.

Stuffed = ice cream added (low-fat!…like I wouldn’t have ordered it otherwise…)

Cream = added creamy component to the “snow” itself

Dreamsicle = flavor of the Gods.

I really want another one. Like right now.

This was the small and it took everything I had to eat the whole thing. But I couldn’t not finish it.

No man snowball left behind.

Here bookie try this. But be prepared to die instantly and go to Heaven.

The Collins minus baby F!

I know it’s only the second completed to-do on the list, but it’s my favorite thing so far. No it technically doesn’t beat spending time with family at Wakulla Springs, but as far as eating good goes, this takes the snowball cake.

If you’re a Tallahassee local, I highly recommend getting a perfect Summer treat! They’re located right next to Bella Bella. Here’s the website again.

Sarah and Tanner left after dessert to head to the hospital where Sarah’s sister was in the beginning stages of labor!

So David and I rode out and looked at a house we’ve looked at several times now, just to check it out again. We were exploring the neighborhood and pulled a u-ey when we saw this pretty sight. We pulled over and watched the glorious sunset for a few minutes.

Perfect ending to a perfect night!

Brittney’s Birthday Bonanza

We had chips and salsa, margaritas, and lots of laughs! I helped Brittney celebrate the big     2-5 birthday tonight at On the Border. I wish I could find it right now, but if I could I’d post the picture of her and I together at Chuck E. Cheese’s on one of our birthdays around age 6 or 7. Crazy how fast almost 20 years go by!

The birthday girl.

I needed two one of these. Yum-o!

Don’t you hate when you finally get around to taking a group picture someone has usually left by then? Nicole we’re sorry you missed it Sad smile

Thank goodness for Photoshop. Your wine even came with the Facebook picture I stole of you Smile

Happy Birthday Brittney!

A Luna Moth

Yesterday I was feeding the bunny and found this handsome fella. I can call him a fella because it’s a boy. I read it here.

Anywho, it was being sluggish and acted like it was dying so I moved it out of the dogs reach and he started to liven up again. I think he’s gonna make it. Maybe he was just playing dead? It was huge, in moth sizes. Probably about 5” wide and so pretty.

He had these big delicate wings and a chunky little cylindrical body. The heftiest moth I’ve ever seen.

Be free!

Samantha + Jaime: Engagement

I did a shoot last weekend for a friend that I went to high school with. The pictures turned out so good and I just love the place we shot at. Railroad Square has so many cool photo spots!

Life through my Phone

Life has been busy. Life has been happy. Life is good.

Some repeats from Facebook & Instagram.

Dinner & a ballgame with friends. Go Noles!

12 week vet appointment for Moosie.

David got a brand new truck.

Now we can get any camper we want and have the power to pull it. And I can actually climb in this truck! It’s the new family truckster.

We said goodbye to the gas guzzler and he is loving his new one.

Bye Bye Monster Truck!

Loving this week’s grocery store carnations. So Summery.

This is a perfect picture to describe my pooches. Remi is always calm and happy to pose for pictures. Moose is always excited and moving! hah!

She fell asleep like this. It looked so uncomfortable.

Our walks should be easier now. I’m a little too excited about this new contraption!

Scratch it Off the List

Last weekend my SIL Kim, her hubby Josh and Bailey made the trip up to Tallahassee for a visit. I can’t wait for them to move up here!

We did a lot of hanging out and doing nothing, but on Saturday we went to Wakulla Springs! If you remember, it’s one of the items on my Summer Bucket List 2012.

bucket[4]2So I scratched it off the list. Ahh, feels great!

Anyway, we had a great time! Josh and I braved the high jump several times, and Kim and David were  struggling. I finally had to pull the “whoever doesn’t go is getting called a chicken on the blog” card. It worked for Kim! Hah! She said I’m not going down forever in history as a chicken. After a 20 minute debate at the top, even though she left me hanging when I jumped on 3 and she didn’t, she eventually jumped! I’m proud of you Kimbo! David on the other hand, wouldn’t get in because he hates cold water. And it was COLD. It wasn’t because he was scared of the jump, or so he says…what a weenie.

When we pulled in Josh said I needed a picture to document my bucket list item! I hopped out real quick because there were cars coming up the road to turn in, and I lost a shoe. But we got the picture!

Love this girl!

David and I

The Lau fam

We spent a lot of time relaxing and hanging out at Big Dawg and Mrs. Robin’s. (My ex-soon-to-be-again-in-laws, so In-Laws for short lol)

Remi, Moose, Bailey & Bear. Pet Friendly House! Haha!

The poor children who didn’t even swim much were exhausted at the end of the day.

They both needed naps.

Moose and her Auntie!

We had a great visit as usual. Love you guys!
