Lindsay and I went Saturday to a small theme park in Georgia to see the Lady Antebellum concert!
I’ve been meaning to get the blog up...but I just haven’t. In the meantime, Linds did it on her blog and it’s great and all inclusive! Here’s a link to hers, so mine will be more of a supplementation!
Check out Lindsay’s Wild Adventure review here!
So, she said it perfectly. We had so much fun, and nearly one of my favorite parts of the day was what she said about us jamming out in the parking lot after the park closed! We timed it when we got in the car at 10:07, we finally pulled out of our parking spot at 11:05!! Ccccrazy!
After about 30 minutes of sitting with the car running and not moving. We rolled down the windows, turned off the engine and I put on one of my current favorite songs “Dog Days are Over” and we sang at the top of our lungs. Then I started searching for an old jam and ended up with Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” to be exact! Oh my gah…so fun!
We started singing a little shyly then amped it up and were singing at the top of our lungs! Everyone around us in the parking lot pretty much were mingling by cars or sitting in them with their windows down, so they got an extra concert in addition to the one they had just seen in the park! We started finding one jam after the next and before you knew it we were like tweens with hairbrushes and singing without a care in the world. We both were much in need of a stress relief and I think it helped to chip away at mine for sure! It was a memory that I will keep and cherish for a long long time!
Oh and what Lindsay didn’t mention is when we left the park, they would only let us turn left. Well, Natalia (my GPS) told me to turn right. Well little did she know the cop didn’t want me turning right, so we were off, heading the wrong direction, in an unfamiliar town, at now about 11:20 at night…oh dear.
Well to pay us back, she decided to take us down not one, but two very long scary dirt roads. Talk about freaking out. I already had a stomach ache from eating too much junk food all day, and now that I was nervous about getting lost on a Georgia dirt road at nearly midnight, I thought I might have to pull over and lose a sock. Luckily I didn’t nor would I have been brave enough to do so. Plus I didn’t have any socks. Anywho, she finally got us back out to the main road and all was well again. One piece of advice, when you’re in a situation like that, DO NOT start thinking about movies like Jeeper’s Creepers and Signs because being on these dark dirt roads surrounded by crops and scary trees does not help make you feel all warm and fuzzy. Just an FYI.
I dropped Linds off around 12:40 and made it home right around 1. Such a great day!!
Okay so to rewind back to the beginning of the day, like Lindsay said we arrived at the park at 10:30 where we promptly hit up the water park because it was already getting hot. Ugh don’t you hate that initial “strip down” when you’re standing at your locker, nice and covered and then you have to take it all off and get down to your skivvies, aka bathing suit in front of everyone? And not to mention, when my partner of the day has this perfectly cute little figure, I don’t exactly like being the “bigger” friend. But, I sacrificed in the name of toilet bowl water slides and we were off to enjoy the park. Plus you gotta think, there’s always gonna be someone skinnier or fatter. So you might as well just suck it up and eat some fried stuff for lunch and dippin dots for an afternoon snack. If you can’t be skinny, be extra fat I say. Well not really but that was pretty much how I felt that day! Lol
We played in the water park for a while, rode some rides, and then water parked it up again for a good while in the afternoon. There were so many people in the lazy river run that you couldn’t exactly lay your head back and relax, but at least it was wet because it was HOTT. And there was a creepy guy that always seemed to be lurking by us out of the 7 or 8 times we rode the river around.
Did I mention there’s not a lot of eye candy at this water park? No? Well there’s not. A girl with a fresh heartbreak needs a little sumtin sumtin to look at and although there were a few head turners (Remember green shorts Linds?!) Valdosta, GA just didn’t have a lot to offer in that department.
*Le Sigh*
Fast forward to the end of the day, we were way back yonder in the concert area. If we had known what we know now, we would have staked our spot earlier in the day instead of two hours before the concert. Oh well. Here’s a homemade version of where we were sitting. On a towel no less so we were looking at the back of the chairs in front of us. Oh and there’s no stadium seating at all. So long story short we had super crappy seats. But we could hear them!
The concert was wonderful though! I snuck up a little closer to try and at least see the band and snap a few pictures. Horrible quality but you get the idea!
{What’s left of my chili cheese fry dinner!}

{Hillary}
{I’m sort of sad these two aren’t a couple, all these duets make me think they need to be!}
I had so much fun with you Lindsay – can’t wait for our next roadtrip!!
Glad you had fun! You definitely needed it! And, yeah, you're right. People were probably standing around staring at you thinking "Oh my, look at that super fat girl over there." You're retarded. And people watching at Wild Adventures is the BEST. I swear those people come from those towns that you only see on "My Big Redneck Wedding"...it's great.
