You good? We’re good. Onward.
Why? Well, there’s a variety of reasons. I could go into them all but it's not really important in the big picture and David and I made the decision based on what was best for us and our future.
We listed our house for sale at the end of April and closed
on July 31st. It was a pretty speedy process. I am very thankful for
that! It’s one of those things that if you make the decision to do something then you want it to happen quickly. Thank goodness for us
it did.
Am I sad? Of course. I love
that house. We made it our home. It’s beautiful, grand, and a dream house if
you ask me. But life isn't all about material things and we decided to change plans. For the better!
So what’s next? Well, the whole time our house was on the
market, we were searching to buy another house. Since we had such a short
timeline, we ran out of time. We of course didn't want to buy a house just to
buy one, so we started looking into renting for the time being. Unfortunately
we couldn't find anywhere that was in
the location we wanted, for the price we wanted, and most importantly, that
allowed our fur children! We were looking for a duplex like my last one, with a
small fenced in yard. No such luck. So desperate times called for desperate
measures and we ended up renting an apartment on a 7 month lease. Not ideal but
thankfully something was available. And there’s a dog park in the complex!
Perfect. This living arrangement will be temporary so I don’t plan to decorate
a smidge. Everything is going to storage except for the essentials. We’re
talking college living style, mattress on the floor. I don’t want to have to
pack again in 7 months. Packing is for the birds.
However, the folks buying our house also wanted our entire
bedroom suite and living room sectional. And our two mounted TVs. This is
totally okay because I’d wanted new furniture, and that was less we had to move
and store. Also, we get to now buy a Smart TV so we can watch Netflix.
Fabulous!
Although I really am going to miss our house I am so
grateful it sold and I hope the next owners love it as much as we did.
For the time being, we’ll continue to house hunt and explore
all options. I’m excited about the adventure ahead and I fully intend to take
advantage of apartment living. Hello pool, gym, and tennis court!! So far, it has been pretty awesome. Really!
In case you’re like me and want to take a trip down memory
lane, you can see the post from when we first moved in here. And
if you want to take a look at the house after I tweaked it into our home it ended up being, you can
see it here!
Onto the next. Bigger (or smaller) and better things await
us!
Life is always an adventure right?
Woof! That's a surprise!! On to the next adventure! So where are you now? You say pool in your complex? Does that mean maybe we can have a blogger pool day?
