M-i-ss-i-ss-i-pp-i

I had to make sure I spelled it right. You know, like they taught us in elementary school.

I just got back from Biloxi, MS for work. My job so far has taken me to places I’ve never been, and Mississippi was one of them. This is an annual meeting that occurs where all of the Southeast Region states get together and basically I meet the people who do what I do, in the other states. It’s my second one now I’ve attended and I actually love this group of people. It’s a fun bunch!

I’ll leave out the boring meeting parts and instead share some (phone) pictures!

Before                                                       After

First off though, I had to get my eyebrows done before I left. I didn’t want others to think that all people from Florida have unibrows.

And Moosie Goosie wasn’t sure what was going on. I guess now she knows packed bags by the door, equals Mommy is leaving.

I got there a day early to account for driving time so I went and checked out this outlet mall.

These shirts were dirt cheap at the GAP. I couldn’t help it. You know I have an obsession with stripes.

The first night I ventured all the way to the Applebee’s in my hotel parking lot.

Heading to the meeting on Day 1. I felt very sailorish.

We were told to wear shorts, sundresses, jeans, “be comfortable” since the meeting would be in a relaxed environment. So nice. Of course all of the clothes I brought lost their appeal because I had new shirts to wear!

We were handed OFF for our afternoon tour. This is gonna be fun!

Oh and since Mississippi hosted this year, I guess it was in the budget for a few more people to attend from their state and I got to meet some great new people who were finally close to my age. One minute we were riding down in the elevator complete strangers, and five minutes later I was riding in their car to lunch after we realized who each other was! Isn’t it funny when you talk to someone all the time on the phone and then finally get to meet them? I love it.

First field trip was to the Crosby Arboretum in Picayune, MS.

We meet for 2 days total but had field trips both days to break up the meetings.

Hurricane Katrina aftermath. AKA “The Incident” to the locals. The trees were bent but not broken and continue to grow that way.

  1. Glad you had a great trip to Mississippi...my home state! :) Also thanks for your comment on my blog. We did have a great trip! To answer your swimsuit question...they came from different places: Target, Victoria's Secret, and Old Navy. I'll have to check back in on you to see what else you have planned this summer.
